How I Started

“Marc, I can sell, and I can build but the rest of it is killing me.”

I had just finished telling a friend that I had decided to end my collegiate teaching career and I asked how his business with his sons was going and he made the statement above. He then shared additional details of his frustrations and concerns, and his angst was palpable. I told him I would be done teaching in a few months, and I would come help him. This big former Marine teared up and told me how much that would mean to him.

I had considered consulting before pursuing full-time teaching, and I thought I could manage it on my summers off. However, the learning curve into full-time teaching did not allow me the margin to have a “side hustle.” Now I find myself in a place where I have the availability to share my professional experience and wisdom.
